Tabora Farms Field Trips

We welcome kids of all ages and abilities! Our program is educational, fun, and engaging!

80-acre orchard of Tabora Farms (named Rustic Valley Orchard) located three doors down from Tabora. 1220 Upper Stump Road, Chalfont

Spring, Summer, and Fall on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays.

We can accommodate groups of all sizes.

Five Part Program Details:

01

A wagon ride tour around the farm during which we point out all the different crops growing as well as share particulars about the growing process and fun anecdotes along the way!

A sit down engaging, interactive lesson about the topic of the field trip including but not limited to a skit, props, stories, and poems.  All geared to the age of the students and level of education.

Picking of the seasonal fruit or vegetable including blueberries, cherries, plums, peaches, blueberries, apples or pumpkins to bring home.  Spring trips do a planting which kids bring home.

04

Free time in the activity area including a playground, straw bale climb and slide, sandbox, basketball shoot, animals for viewing, and tetherball.

A bonus freshly baked cookie from our Tabora bakery for a yummy way to end their trip to the farm!

Program Directors:

Patricia and Caleb Torrice, owners and operators of Tabora Farms.  Patricia, a Masters+ educated former Long Island school teacher who is able to articulate valuable details about agriculture for groups of all ages in a fun, informative way and Caleb Torrice is Cornell University educated farmer who has a passion for farming and sharing the farm with others with a comedic delivery. He’ll have the kids, as well as adults, laughing while learning so much information!

Modifications made for students with special needs:

We welcome and encourage all different groups of students. As parents of a child with severe special needs, we know how valuable this experience on the farm is for students with all different learning abilities.

Fee:

$10 per student. No charge for teachers or chaperoning adults

Ample bus parking and turnaround
